Joint term is a period of time where all the arms gather and rehearse for the Commissioning parade. A total of 9 contingent, Alpha, Golf, Logistic, Armour, Mids, Air, Combat Engineers, Signal. Not the biggest cohort in OCS however still grand enough to make you 'orgas'.
we have our SSM, School Sergent Major to run the whole show. Imagine making 9 contingent to synchronize their marching and carrying out their drills, definitely not easy. Our SSM like any other warrant officers in SAF, strict in demanding for standards, yet able to gain my respect to them, knowing when to to joke and be serious. Something i also find warrant officers amazing, it seems like they had a 101 or even 1001 joke book in their mind. They never fail to make fun and jokes out from us, making us forget the scolding that we got from them previously.
Parade Rehearsal is the killer fort Joint Term, while the time table to follow is insane as compare to Pro Term, maybe slightly better than Service Term from what i heard from other cadets.
Punctuality is very important for this term, thus school appointment holders tend to buffer in extra time for us to account for strength. This buffering of time is also used by wing appt holders and PCs, making the smurfs like us to rush like hell to meet timings. e.g. 1330 be in Mass Auditorium, timing for us to meet to fall in for lunch may be as early as 1200. In logistic, we call such buffering of time, bull whip effect.
Finally, 3 more days to my commissioning parade, cant wait for the day to come.
Tired and leg ache form rehearsal
