F1 Rocks Singapore!

Finally finished the 3 days of F1 event. Super tired.. Didn't take much picture of the race and the suite I'm working at. Before you guys carry on reading, here is the post i have for last year F1. F1 Outside Catering. After reading my last year post, i find that this year is kinda fucked up! seriously alot fucked up!

Pay rate per hour have to 'fight hard' to get this year! $10 is like the standard rate every hotel is offering, Captain $12.. Yet Ritz still wanna bargain for $8.50.. Same for every hotel, they need to have certain number of students to work as interns as an experience. Guess what our clever HR dept did~ They offered no pay, as internship should be for experience. The poor students all work for 3 days FREE!! Although working hours are not as long as those paid, but seriously the work load is not easy..

Pay peanuts get monkeys, Pay nothing get nothing. Students this time round are not as motivated as last year. Some gave excuses to leave early while some don't even turned up. End of day still the paid workers suffer...

Due to no show from some students, the problem snow balled to another issue, which is the Staffing per suite. We could hardly mingle with with the Poly students (especially Mei Meis) as our staffs are switched for the 3 days.

Day 1: Claymore 2 suite. Potential of 2 good looking mei meis from RP. NTU, cant really make it. Was looking forward to chat more with them the next day.

Day 2: Started 12nn, asked to help AmEx suite till 8pm as some regular staffs got personal things to handle. However at 2pm, i was told to help Foo Sheng's Suite, AT&T Williams. That is one of the race team suite. Get to see the driver, Nico.. don't know what..

His suite got no motivation at all!!! no potential good looking xiao mei meis, but alot of unmotivated and tired RP students. The only RP guy seriously redefine the meaning of "Kam Lan" in my dictionary. To maintain my level of motivation, i constantly revisit my previous Claymore 2 suite to see the mei meis. But got to know that one of them is redeployed to another suite to help out~!!

Day 3: Just when i settle down with the new suite staffing.. 3rd Day, my captain was told that we need to gave away 2 staffs to help other suite! Furthermore we cant throw away the useless RP guy, he is totally a -1 manpower to the suite. Whatever he do, we need to redo his work or constantly make effort to check on him..

Ok enough of complaining, i have to continue with my review of this year F1. This year the AT&T suite is better than my previous suite as it has a pantry right beside it, and a staircase exit for us to 'eat'.. However its kinda cramped up compared to other suites especially when its full house.

These pictures caught my attention. Click on the pictures for a detailed look.

Itinerary runs pretty much the same as last year, Tea break at 1600, Dinner at 1800, Supper at 2100. Turn over as usual is a chore especial when the guests came in at staggered timings. This time round i have 3 ambassador staying in the suite. One of them is quite a picky with the things we do, but otherwise everything is fine with them.

This year's In house experience is much better. We got to stay in the hotel room.. YES THE HOTEL ROOM with the Bath Tube where i always wanna bath in (which i did this time!!)

First thing i do is 'chop' the guest bed! First night, i let the other guys bath first, then i enjoy the whole bathroom to myself, soaking in the tube of hot water.. Feels so refreshing after exiting the bathroom to the super chilled bed.. And get to sleep till 10am plus in the morning. This bed room is the only best memory i had for the whole F1..

Last day of F1, the clearing up is severely handicapped this year. Half of the staffs whom are students went home. Another half went of early as next day is the Outside Catering for Istana. Some who are working next day still stayed back to work till 4am! Insane! I'm not young anymore to chiong so hard.

Made 2 trips to and fro the paddock and hotel. On the way, Herman and I took alot of nonsense pictures.

Shall end my post with these pictures, or else my blood will start boiling when i start complaining.

Commissioning Ball: Bravo & Echo

This post should be dated back to 28 March. Event of the day is the Commissioning Ball of Bravo and Echo company in OCS..

My working timing have been screwing me up for the past 2 weeks.. 1st week, told to report at 9am but stated working at 12nn. 2nd week, told to report at 12nn, but stated to come at 9am. Checked the staffing list, noticed that both was last min changes and wasn't informed. Guess i will need to call up and confirm my working timing before work the day before. Anyway lesser and lesser functions this period. My race and exams are nearing also means no work for me. Maybe 2 more weeks of work and farewell C Cube..

Heard about this function the week before. Soooooo looking forward for it, knowing that half of the pax will be females! Like moving along a buffet line, eyes feasting on the revealing dresses of the ladies!!! @_@

Bravo and Echo batch is a small and sad commissioning cohort. Commission parade is small scale, personally feel any impact from it, if I'm the spectator.. Heard from someone.com that this batch are all JC or Distinction w/ merit students, that's not my point. My point is, their female partner will be usually JC students! From past Prom Night functions, JC girls somehow seems to dress better for night events. I know its stereotyping but i still stick to this thinking.

Good enough, the partners didn't disappoint my dried-up eye balls, desperate soul and nourished that filthy brain of mine.. muahaha!! Looks aside, somehow some of these girls seems to have this spoiled and arrogant attitude. Good to look but not good to have. Maybe its just my bad intuition..

Program of the functions is straight, western dinner, all single plated. Shall not run through the boring program. Basically I'm just serving a whole ballroom of kids (some pretty ones). Instead i shall share one frustrating point i noted..

These young commission officer had been thought ACPC (Appointment Certificate Presentation Ceremony), a ceremony which gives us our swords and certificate, follow by a western dinner. They should know basic dining manners! But i didn't see them during function!!

Fork and Spoon not parallel when eat finish, keep making me wondering whether should i clear or not. Same for their partner. Cant they just teach them some basic dining manners! Everyone eating like they have a 1 inch diameter mouth. Everyone just too peisah to eat.. argh~ Mostly wants to have white wine, because they see the rest requesting for it... (anyway white wine is the only wine avail for the dinner..)

Maybe everyone is excited impressing their partners during the dinner. The things that keep cadet through the grueling 9 mths of training, is the commissioning parade and commissioning ball (to me). The moment when we feel really proud, all the honour and glory to showcase to our loved ones, not being called 'sir' for everywhere we walk. You go MacDonald, you are also being greeted as sir or mdm.. Or if really desperate for it, come to Ritz. We form up in lines to greet and do farewell.

Looking at this batch, 72/08. cant help to dig back my old post and read my Commissioning Ball post. Commissioning Ball 16th June. Too bad its held in MM. If held in Ritz, it will be lotsa fun for me!! haha!

Tai Tai Session | Hotpot Culture

hohoho~ Went to Hotpot Culture for Ala Carte Buffet Dinner together with the Ritz Princesses. They are Miss Gi Gi, Miss Emo, Miss VIP, slowly guess who they are... By right, I'm not the only guy invited. 阿哥,Foo Wen was busy with work hence I'm the only guy there to entertain the ladies..

Initially planned to eat at Seoul. But, lazy to do the BBQing and get our clothing smoked with the burnt smell of meat. Managed to pester them to change location. 'Someone' still nagging about it.. Well cause she don't do the BBQing and don't eat the vege!

Pictures.. Pictures.. PICTURES

What i like about this buffet
  1. CHEAP! $19.80++ (One of our princess got platinum card liao, never bother to check the bills... Ended up paying abit more.)
  2. Individual steamboat pot (3rd picture from left). No more arguing over flavour of soup and what ingredients to be thrown in. Everything is individual!
  3. Variety of ingredients, not alot. But its have plenty of cooked foods for you to choose! No need to walk around the stations like in Sakura. Just fill up the paper and you get your cooked food served to you.
  4. DESSERT! Chocolate Fondue! (middle picture) Unlimited top up of chocolate, marshmallow and ice cream!!
  5. Location: It is at Suntec. Good for meetup especially if the group you are meeting, stays everywhere in S'pore.
  6. Similar to New York New York, they have Birthday Celebration. Instead of the whole bunch of staffs gathering around you singing Birthday Song. They played a Birthday Melody instead, at least not so chaotic!
  7. Other menus which is even cheaper at different time slot! Afternoon Delight Buffet from 12pm to 5pm at $13.90++, Porridge Buffet from 1130am to 230pm at $7.90++ WAH!!! $_$ 省钱王!!
What i dislike about this buffet
  1. Soup base is salty, makes you wanna go for their very expensive drink at $2 for 200ml glass. Bring along own water bottle!!
  2. The fuel runs out pretty fast. Needs to keep changing them, which require the help of the staffs. Maybe along our own lighter is a good idea.
  3. When they ask how many pax we have. Tell them the exact number of guests we have at that point of time. As more guests come in then inform them (up to your integrity). If not they will charge you base on the number you told them, cause they don't check!

After meal activities: TAKE PICTURES!

3 hours of dinner is no joke even to heavy eaters like me.
Strongly recommend my Tri Team to go for this buffet after race day.

Belated 21st Birthday Celebration | With Ritz Outside Catering

hohoho! its my belated 21st birthday! (belated for 2 years). Anyway, decided to work today, since there wouldn't be anyone to celebrate with me this afternoon.. Go Ritz, at least got friends to mingle around.

Event is CNY Lunch for NOL (i know its not CNY already)
Total 56pax at somewhere high around Telok Blangah area.

Report work at 8am, set off at 9 plus. Here i got my first surprise!

My First Birthday Cake!
Together with Herman, Chew Hung, Lian Yin and Anand.

Known from my 'Chao Keng'. Now everytime i work i need to take pictures to show evidence I'm working (claimed by the girls). Or when you see me sweating, means I'm working.. -_-"

This blog is not going to talk about the event. By now, my nature of events are pretty straight forward. Unless there is any interesting events, i would most probably skip the this portion. This blog post will showcase the place we work at.

This is the lift lobby. Once you come out you will see the greenery. To the left (of this picture) is the dining area, right (of this picture) is the lounge.

This is the lounge area. Just the furniture is enough to make you speechless. Comes along with this view which you can see Vivocity..

Obviously this is the dining area, with a outdoor balcony beside it.

Here is what i like! A outdoor rooftop balcony, as big as my living room, or even bigger! Can view Sentosa from here..

That's all for the OC. I knows its pretty short. Next is what happen when i got back to Ritz.

haha, i know its blur. But that moment is damn fun! Herman and the girls have been planning how to sabo me when we return.. Pour me with Soft Drinks, shrink wrap me.. all sort of ideas. But in the end only pouring me with Icy Cold Mineral Water... Did some 'Indian Dance' in chill room, trying to avoid the senseless splashing from all of them. Thank god fire power not that strong. I heard worse treatment, i think mine is very good already. haha!

Overall really thankful to them to make my day! Thans ladies and gentlemen!

Blogging about Ritz

Have been blogging about work for quite sometimes. Always taking foods which we ate and happening moments. Start wondering who is actually reading my blog from workplace.. That because one of the manager, ADRIAN come and disturb me about me blogging.. I reviewed my posts, so far only mention Adrian, 大姐 and KSK. Nothing offensive i hope.. haha! Then on the PT staffs, hmm only mentioned about closed working mates. Just hope don't get them into trouble for being in the pictures i took with them..

This post is not about me blogging about Ritz. In fact the first paragraph is just a warm up for whats coming next. Heard from Andrew that our S'pore renowned blogger have worked in Ritz before. Some more VIP server leh.. That around 2003, a year before i went in, i think. she had quite a unpleasant encounter with our KSK and hence wrote a complain letter to HR dept. YA! no joke! HR DEPT. Anyway here is the link Anti-KSK post,

Haha after going thought the complain letter i seriously think she can be a blogger. freaking can write long shits out of nothing! Checked out her FHM special (at the side link), aiyo freaking can bitch around. I'm not a XX hater but had this impression that her blog is really good since alot of people are reading.. But after a reading a few post.. erm no thanks. For bitching news, hmm can consider passing my time, but will go for MrBrown first.

**Update**
Anyway, whats the point of writing such a long complain letter while KSK is still surviving in Ritz, constantly chee hong-ing younger girls.. for like the past 6 years?! haha Now i know his lame briefing jokes have been lasted for 6 years.. haha!
**Update**

Within her post, i saw a reply, whom this person is also a BQT manager. Came out with his/her rant blog on the stuffs he hates, as a BQT manager. Pretty funny. Enough of hearing staffs complain, now can start hearing the manager's rant!
So You Think You Want To Be a BQT Manager (non-local)

Back to Ballroom on 初十二 | 'OX'-picious

Back to working inside Ritz, feel so lost. If noticed, for the past few working days, its all OC for me. Even forget to get plate before queuing up for food at the cook house.

Started at 11am, M floor. some Company's CNY Lunch. As usual and simple except Yu Sheng for the first course. Only 30pax, easy peasy..

Never see this course before. Very interesting!
Looks more like a Western Course than Chinese 7th Course. Each platter is served with half a lobster (small one la)

Just when i was about to try this course, aunt came running to the beverage store looking for me urgently! Fucked i thought 大姐 looking for me.. Then she say, you want 红包 or food.. Quite a obvious decision to make! Throw the food to stewarding and rush into the room. When entered, i thought that i wouldn't be so nice, so i 'gay siao' try doing some clearing.. Then the host walk over to me and pass me the 红包.. haha! 发阿! Huat Ah~

After getting 红包 quite sian to work for evening's dinner (target hit). Heard that now due to cost cutting, staffs have been greatly reduced to minimum and lots of full time staffs are being deployed in to BQT (lateral service) after going thought this training session called MTP - Multi-Task Programme. So the previous night, the ratio of PT to FT is almost 1! Imagine the uncles and aunties from dept like housekeeping and finance whcih have no experience/link to service coming to help with just a few hours training..

Event: CIMB Security CNY Dinner. 550 Pax
Lucky got to work as VIP, together with CH.. Total of 10pax and Khor as our IC.. Total guest arrived, 9. Total guest remain after the CO speech (before the first course), 8. Total guests remained by dessert, 5!

Throughout the dinner, we have encounter with uninvited 小强. For detail story, can msn me. Overall the dinner is fine. However seems to be quite a few unhappening things happen here and there. A few breakages, 1 spillage, staffs & guest sent to hospital. Heard that the guest was drunk, fell on his head, leading to a puddle of blood at Stella Gallery. Handling the FT for OT is a tricky issue, cant really 'instruct' them to work, usually need the manager to step in to 'gan everyone', ya including us. But that's part of the 'show' la.. Cant make it so obvious that manager is scolding them. Good thing is, most of OT stuffs being done by 12mn!

Nothing more for this week. Only working next week OC on Tuesday.. Would be working once weekly for this period now i guess. Abit lazy.. haha!

Outside Catering on 初六

Its 初六 and i started working, going to miss the steamboat session at my uncle's place also! Working outside catering within the 15 days of CNY, sure get 红包! So looking forward for the 红包 to be given to us at the end of the day..

Event: Outside Catering, Standing Buffet at Leong's House (not our Leong Foo Wen)
Venue: Around Simei ITE area, Guan Soon Ave. Landed Property.

Reported work at 9am, do up some preparation work and left at 10plus. Reached the host house before 11pm.

Left: Host's house
Right: Evidence to show we are working

First thing we do when we arrived: UNLOAD! What i hate about unloading is when the lorry is on a SLOPE~ especially when pulling chairs down. In total we have 3 truckload, each for BQT, Stewarding and Chefs (which arrived later around 3plus)

Left: Left side of the house, Koi Pond
Middle: Walkway after the stepping stone you see from the left picture (taken from inside the house)
Right: Koi fish (taken from the walkway leading to the middle picture)

Spend a few minutes exploring the external area of the owner's house, like the Koi pond, it has a walkway beside it for guests to get close with the fishes.. Also from the inside of the house, you can open the sliding door and the next step is into the pond!

What we can really do at the time is setup the area and buffet line, layout all the table cloths and chairs. Very brief and minor tasks as some of the plates are dirty, some table cloths too big so need to wait for the afternoon truck trip. Had our lunch pretty early at 1230.

Lunch time at Back Area

Had our lunch at the back area. Wah! Had quite a good menu for today! Most of us ate 2 boxes of ingredient. The host even even out and invited us into his dining area to eat. But all of us prefer to stay at the back area as its more 'comfortable' for us. Imagine Rahimah misbehaving, FW and Anand childish argument.. haha! The quiet back area suddenly being injected with lots of laughter and chattering.

Back to work again at 1pm, did some minor touch up to the setup, clear the unwanted stuffs and settle back area. Then we go for another round of 'break' again! haha, less than 1 hours we are back to our cosy corner..

Left: Interior design
Middle: How big their mirror is! Half as long as the toilet.
Right: View from Toilet Bowl, Basin with 2 taps. (don't worry no smell)

Felt a sudden urge to visit their toilet after lunch. The toilet is so freaking BIG! that i take some time snapping the pictures of it. When seating on the toilet bowl, the toilet roll is one arm length away, that my ass is almost lifted when trying to reach for it! That roughly how wide it is...

Hmm the snacks not bad~ *Munch * Munch
Oh i found food, Bak Kua!!!
*I'm full~!

Kitchen area, out of the 2 kitchens they have. Does not include the dining area yet!

Weather is so hot outside, that the owner/or the maids? invited us into the house to sit. We all sat at their kitchen area. Were told we can help ourselves with the CNY snacks on the table. So CH and RHM helped themselves with the pineapple tarts. Since we can help ourselves with the snacks so means the Bak Kua on the table is included la! haha

Anyway just when we finish our snacks, the host can over.. Maybe I'm too comfortable in the kitchen area, that i greeted the host 'UNCLE' instead of 'SIR'.. I find it perfectly normal until i see the glare from everyone's eyes.. Then i knew that i greeted wrongly. RHM commented that "you can eat their bak kua, doesn't mean he is your friend/'uncle'.. haha! Now thinking of it still makes me feel peisah..

The functions doesn't have much to share about, just a simple standing buffet. Only thing that caught my eyes for the whole functions is this sex bomb with this superb figure. Nice curve, tanned and smooth skin, solid bumper but comes with a face like the barbie doll , Bratz.

Food of the Day
Penne in cream sauce, asparagus, preserved meat, prawn and mushroom

Throughout the buffet, find some chance to tryout some paste made by our chefs. They have a selection of sauces, pastas and the ingredients. So its pretty customized to your preference. Also had some tempura prawns & prawn dumpling (skin abit thick).. Nearing the end of events, we had our own 'standing buffet'

Well, till now i have roughly go through all the happening stuffs we had on this event. End of the day, we really got a big 红包 from the host, more than what was given during 初一 outside catering. But the most take back memory for this event is the humbleness of the host. His family got very good up bringing, just by looking at his sons whom one of them even helped us to 'dig' out the soup bowl which dropped into their dirty pond.
