EXTRACTION OF TOOTH (D-Day H-Hour)
Got my wisdom tooth on the lower left jaw extracted yesterday at 1400.. Not so painful during the process thanks to the anesthetic that the female dentist injected to my gum, so numb that the left ear was affected by it too. Prior to the surgery, they will blindfold my eyes, maybe to keep me calm as i would know that tools they used to extract my tooth. Unfortunately the cloth they use is just too thin, that i can even see the dentist face. Anyway i chose to close my own eyes and not to see whats going to happen.
Before i start, can read up more on extraction of wisdom tooth here
Next she will use 3 sets of tool (base on my imagination, as i cant see!). First should be a saw, second i think is a drill, lastly is the extracting tool which could just be a pincer. Oh ya maybe left out the surgery knife, not sure whether she got used it anot, all i know my gum is actually being cut open!By looking at the tooth that she extracted, i guess that she would first saw the tooth in the middle. Followed by drilling the tooth in the middle also trying to break it into 2 pieces. Then she will extract each piece out individually.
After extraction, i don't know what she used, all i know she stitch my gum at the affected area up. Best thing is, i can feel the thread/needle moving through my gum! argh~ Now when i eat, i often mistaken the thread in my mouth as leftover rice, so i tend to use my tongue to lick it out. Haha!
POST EXTRACTION (D Day H-Hour+3)
Wah! initially the pain wasn't so bad thanks to the anesthetic. But 3hrs after the surgery, when the anesthetic starts to wears off. I was so in pain that i got all numb to be able headache, telling me its time to take the painkillers.. Mouth is still aching for me to consume any food, missed my heavy lunch before the appointment. Suffered with an empty stomach till end of the team's swim training. Got myself a bowl of fish soup with a bowl of rice which i pour in to consume as porridge. Gave up on slowly chewing g the food as my mouth isn't as agile as it used to be, so ended up swallowing all the rice and fish meat.
POST EXTRACTION (D-Day + 1)
Now the jaw isn't as painful as it is compared to yesterday. Can drink and will try eating later. Bleeding seems to stop, no more tasting of my own blood with my tongue anymore. Cant wait till next Monday when i can remove the stitch on my mouth.
Ouch my tooth~
