Had been thinking of getting a new HP after i ORD, started looking at some of the model. Hoping to have a PDA type of phone (touch screen features) and good camera phone. So in currently had a few models in mind:
Samsung G800: 5MP camera phone, par with the LG viewty, Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson K850I. However, does not have Wifi although its a 3G phone..
HTC Touch/ Touch Dual: 2MP camera BUT have the TouchFLO feature which is much similar to Iphone and also equipped with Wifi.
Ok now talk about why i like to have camera and PDA features
Camera: Sometimes when I'm outside, i would like to take pictures of interesting stuffs but always didnt bring my camera out. For example, take a look at Wilson's blog, able to take a picture of his crash-and-burn bike, food, outings, etc.. Find it quite a chore to deliberately bring out a camera and quite awkward to bring out a camera and starting taking pictures in the public as if I'm a tourist.. -_-
PDA/Touch Screen: Haha the reason of having this feature is actually quite lame.. Guess its quite 'cool' to be holding on to a stylus or using little finger to poke the screen. haha! It gives me the very IT savvy (although I'm not) and futuristic feeling..!!! haha! Ok after typing these out, i kinda know whats the choice.. haha!! nvm, another think i like is that PDA phones can act like super mini laptops. Although i never really use a PDA and their office functions before but it seems kinda fun even though i would be fully utilizing them.
Enlighten me pls..

Handphone Dilemma
Lunch @ TP Mensa
Ok had my lunch at TP Mensa's Salad Bar but didn't meet up with Mr Teo to go bike shops. Nothing better to do so just take a picture of my usual 'set meal' from that stall. Usually i will buy beef steak instead of chicken chop, as today they only serve sirloin beef steak which is $5.80, same price as my set meal.
Holiday so far..
1 week of holiday was really quite pack for me. Touch down on Sat, immediately went for several meetups and visiting for some bike shops as some of my Sergeants wanna get themselves bicycles for more races. Currently i also stuck with 2 bikes, well not really 2 complete bikes. My Fastrax now just the skeleton, only lacking a groupset to get it moving. Now thinking of getting a Ultegra groupset and offer it to one of my sergeants. Another one is 190cm in height, requires a 58cm - 60cm frame, which is totally out of my height range.
Yesterday just went Sentosa to visit the Tri Team as they are having camp.. Held at Costa Sand Resort, however staying over at small huts in the resort itself. Pretty nice and cosy i would say. 2.5m by 3m room, with 2 double deck beds, air conditioned and only $60 for 3D2N stay.
Sentosa also had quite a big face lift since the last time i went there for training. Palawan beach seems to have the most renovation. Now with alot of shops all along the beach, interchange and monorail which stretches from the main island. Night life there seems to be more vibrant, or maybe because i never got to stay in the small island after late afternoon to experience it.
Tomorrow will be going to Meryvn's place, objective is always the same, Bicycle. This 1 week holiday gave me quite a few ideas of bike project. Wanna sort out my cannondale bike and fix up my Fastrax. Also looking for bicycles for the rest..
Guess later this afternoon will just spend time with Mr Teo, maybe even visit Tampines bikeshops, before i head for my grandma house. As i promised her a visit on Wed and Fri. Think about it, almost 2 years in army, my frequency of visit had dropped to 2-3 times a month only. Started to miss her cooking especially soup..
1030 now, will be having mega lunch at Mensa soon. shall end of my post now.
Starting to smell my freedom

Home sweet home...
Touched down on Singapore land at 0500.. Reached home at 0600. 2nd march to 29th march.. a total of 28days, longest trip i ever made so far in my life. Second is my Nepal Expedition back in year 2000, which took 25days, follow up are all the training trips i made to Taiwan and Brunei which took 21 days each. Now looking back, for the past 20 years, none of my holiday vacation is longer than my expeditions or training trips!
A short summary of my compact and intense 1 month stay in Thailand.
1st week: Mainly acclimatisation trainings, Navex follow by Bn and Coy mission each.
2nd & 3rd week: 14th march the start of ATEC stage 2, lasted for 1 week, comprises of 2 Coy mission and ending the evaluation with the Bn mission. Prior to 14th, we are busy with the admin prep and some rest days in between.
Last week: Post admin stuff, also not to forget the Thai Airborne Task which earns me another badge to put on for my ORD parade. Yes! Before i forget the lousy R&R we had to go through before we can step foot into the Thai Airport.
Kinda proud to say that i had finished reading a book, title "The 7 habits of highly effective people" and half way through "Seven Ancient Wonders" Imagine the only book i read finished so far is "Red Sky In the Morning" forced to read for my sec 2 Literature Lesson, till recently the "Freakonomic" during my OCC.
For this trip, i didn't not bring out my PSP on purpose so to concentrate on my reading, but kinda regret not bringing as i finished the 7 Habits on the first week. So the last week, im suffered in boredom, sleeping everyday as early as ten to pass time. Afternoon nap is totally out of question as the weather there is terrible! Imagine you can sweat while laying on the bed in the afternoon...
Ending of with my Thai Wing Badges

Last week...
4 more hours and i will be away for the next 4 weeks... and this is how i spent my last week in S'pore..
Mon & Tues: In camp, settle kit bag and oversea brief etc...
Tues got to meet up with SJ, lots of last min things keep popping out. still thought can have a half day leave.. ended up book out around 6.
Had our dinner at Fish & Co, regret ordering additional salmon grill (set meal) after ordered the seafood patter for 2 (set meal for 2).. Never eat so full before, had problem sleeping that night.
Wed: Well Kim called me on Tues while i was choosing formal top with SJ. Kim is looking for promoters for her booth during Sg Bia. So accompanied SJ to Kim's officer which is at somerset. Haha! Kim was like trying to make her dress up in sports bra and running shorts for the promoting.
Thurs: Kim was looking for 2 promoters, got her SJ and finally settled the last candidate with Charmane. So Thurs, i meet up with SJ again to get back the sports bra and details on the job, went to Bugis to look for Charmane's office. was disorientated when exit from MRT. Walk towards Sim Lim Sq whereas Char's office is at beach rd. argh~
After that, went to Gee Hin Chan to look at their unicycle, want to do some price research before commit to get one. The shop wasn't what i imagine it is, layout, design product etc.. very little effort in the shop front layout.
Fri: ah~ a more interesting day. went down to Mervyn's place, the bike butler. More or less the same layout, except a few more bicycles. With a Ridley to welcome us when entered his house, follow by 4 bikes hanging by the side of the wall, 2 bikes in the kitchen toilet, 1 in kitchen and 2 more in the living room. He acquired 2 sets of power crank, gold in colour, weighing 900grams per arm! Wilson and i was joking that i can use to knock his mens head, crack and see whats inside their skull. He is more interested in mine to see how filthy is it..
After that, went to a new shop open just 1 street after Boon's cycle, selling mainly triathlon stuffs. Tri wear, running shoes, some carbon frames nothing much that interest me due to the price, haiz retail price is always like that.
In the evening, had my dinner at my grandma place, see her before i embark for my last oversea journey. after that met Mr Teo to collect a $40 titanium base aerobar. Went to a wrong block and encountered this super duper paranoid lady who is so paranoid that the red light from Mr Teo's helmet shines through her window, she thought related us to the JI leader escape. oh come on, if im the JI leader, i would wanna waste time on people like you. Please measure your own social status/importance. The way she talk, remind me of English/Literature teacher in my secondary school.
Sat: D-day (Sg Bia) never train much for it, just swim to make sure i can at least finish a 1.5km swim. haha! wah~ i was totally owned in the swim, being the 3rd wave, i exit together with the last wave swimmers.. Weather is good, but not the best. Windy but also raining after the race. Can see people all shivering in the rain. No point changing up as still will get wet, so most of the people were still in their race attire.
Had lunch with Kim and SJ at Bugis. why we ended up there? haha! Kim's boss, Bob kindly give us a lift out of ECP (Park), well using ECP (highway).. haha!! so upon exit is already at Suntec area. So he dropped us at Bugis, Sim Lim Sq.
Went home and took a quick shower and after which, we proceed on with the next program. Go massage at AMK hub, Statice. It more like a beauty care centre which provide massage service as well. It was a very long day for me. damn tired when reach 10.
Well that's all folks. Going to collect my Unicycle now from a seller at Simei MRT! haha!!
