Making of the CUBE

Had planned to get a new road bike this year.. Targeting the BMC SLC Pro Machine. A full carbon bike with Easton carbon tubings and spec-ed with Easton Component. Either Bright red and black or Matt black colour theme. However just its frameset alone would set back around 3k...

On the other hand, witnessed Coach and Wilson undergo bike fitting from the Bike Butler before enlisting into army. Waited for 2 years to hear more reviews on this service, as it doesn't come cheap. Each service would cost $1xx just for the basic bike fitting and personal measurement. Finally decided to try out the service personally and see the effects.

After the service, i was told that i should go for size 51, whereas i always search for size 49 in ebay. After a few considerations like race day nearing and financial capability, i then decided to go for his custom-made frame. Even though its a custom-made frame, i tried to copy the theme from the CUBE HPT. Its a titanium bike with also uses some Easton components which triggered me to copy its setup. Lastly, the brand itself is my Call-sign!

CUBE HPT

Actually, after really studying the components, the only Easton components it uses is the wheels and fork. the rest are Syntace. Maybe could be the colour theme. Personally i like white, red and black. The wheels as made it looks beefy on the bottom, abit of aggressive looks. haha!

Purchasing of the components is much easier and lethal this time. Unlike all my previous bikes, i slowly get them from ebay or 2nd hand market. Hence the price of the bike is usually alot cheaper than what i can get for 1st hand. Easier as in i don't need to wait for the right component to appear online. But more lethal as the price of getting them is not cheap. With a decent amount of 'reserve' in my bank after selling both of my bikes, i just blindly buy the component that i wanted and not added the amount up till i almost complete the setup..

Spec as follows:
Frame: XACD Custom Titanium
Headset: Chris King anodised red
Fork, Handlebar, Stem and Seatpost: Easton EC90
Groupset+Pedal: Shimano Ultegra SL
Wheelset: Mavic Ksyrium SL 08, w/ conti sports tires

Was contemplating on getting a similar wheels as the CUBE, aero Easton wheelset. But judging based on the expenditure so far, forking out another $500 will be very painful.

CUBE's Bike

Yes i know, the actual CUBE looks more fierce! Anyway still quite pleased with the overall outcome. Now thinking whether should i DIY reflective decals for the frame.

Finally to end off, shall show you another dream bike, if i ever can make a comeback.

Litespeed ICON

Why Titanium not Carbon: Had decided that my passion for Ti bike still lays in me.
Why Litespeed? Litespeed compare to Merlin and Seven looks faster. They used Easton SLX as their fork.
Why the ICON not ARCHON. Its WHITE!

Now imagine the decals, bar tape and saddle, changed them to PINK! And try to find a white or pinkish wheelset. Super pimped! Even if there is no pink, the white and black theme will just looks nice.
