Sundown Showdown!!! Race Plan

Last Year's Sundown Marathon Review

Timing, Goals and Run Plan
Not going to repeat the same humiliation i had last year for running a 5'15 for the marathon.

Aiming a min 4'30 this year with bonus of 4'00. Decided to follow a sundown pacer, Mr Seah who is a TP technician officer. He will be pacing for 4hrs, ambitious me is going to run after him until i deem to fast, will then be dropped by him and continue with my plan on 4'30. Anyway there is 4'30 pacers.

Decided to jog through the hilly part instead of walking (last year)

Some figures for running this 4hr marathon.
Distance: 42.195 (claimed)
Time: 4hrs (too optimistic)
Avg pace/km: 5min 41s (yet to include rest and walk)

Last Years Mistakes

  1. Underestimate the after-20km route.(scared liao)
  2. Not prepared for hill and distance. (still not that prepared)
  3. Not familiarize with route. (should be fine this time)
  4. Not enough rest from holiday (not an issue this year)
Hydration
There are 18 water points throughout the route. All evenly spread out with 2-3km gap. Time for me to jog/run from each point is about 15-20min, which is the ideal hydration time.

Alternating each water station will supply 100plus. So plan will be drinking full cup from 100plus station, rinse mouth at normal water station or consume powergel and hydration salt from my bottles.
